This article explains the Site Owner role in eShare's SharePoint view, how it affects what you see and can do, and how to use the updated filtering and column options. The following steps will be reviewed:
What Is the Site Owner Role?
If you are an owner for a SharePoint site, eShare now recognizes you as a Site Owner for that site. This gives you visibility into shares on your own sites, even ones you haven't been added to directly. Visibility works as follows:
If you're a member of a Trusted Share (owner, co-owner, or recipient), you see only the Trusted Shares you're a member of, as usual.
If you're a Site Owner, you see every Trusted Share on that site, including ones you aren't a member of. Shares you don't belong to appear in a greyed-out state.
If a site has Trusted Shares but you're neither a recipient nor the Site Owner, you won't see the site or its shares at all.
Note:
The SharePoint Site view shows up to 20 sites at a time. If a site you own isn't listed, search for it by name to bring it up.
How Your Role Is Displayed
If you go to the eSHARE ,365 app on Teams/SharePoint site, a new 'Role' column in the SharePoint view shows your access level for each Trusted Share. If you hold more than one role, eShare always shows the highest one, using this order:
'Co-owner' > 'Owner' > 'Member' > 'Site Owner'
'Site Owner' only appears when you aren't an owner, co-owner, or member of any share on that site. As soon as you become a member of a share on that site, the column reflects that higher role instead.

What a Site Owner Can Do
As a Site Owner, you have view access to every Trusted Share on your site. On shares you aren't a member of, you can:
Disable all recipients
View share options
Manage recipients (promote a recipient to owner or co-owner, or disable them)
You cannot open or view the contents of a Trusted Share you aren't a member of. To make any other changes, you'll need to become a co-owner first.

Select the share to view options
Becoming a Co-owner
In the SharePoint Site view, select the Trusted Share you want to manage.
Select the 'Become a Co-owner' button.
Confirm the promotion when prompted.
You are now a co-owner of the Trusted Share, with full co-owner permissions, including opening its contents.
Note:
Becoming a co-owner is a one-way action for that share. Once promoted, you keep full co-owner access going forward.
Filtering and Customizing the SharePoint View
Open the SharePoint Site view.
To filter by role, select 'Filter' and choose 'Role', then select the role(s) you want to see, such as Site Owner (shows only shares where your role is Site Owner).
To filter by a specific SharePoint site, select 'Filter' and choose 'SharePoint Site', then search for and select the site.

To show or hide columns, including the new 'Role' column, select the column visibility toggle and check or uncheck the columns you want to see.

If the table doesn't fit your screen, scroll horizontally to reach additional columns.
Note:
Your column visibility choices are now remembered between visits, so you won't need to reset them each time you return to the view.
