This document describes the features, enhancements, and bug fixes included in eShare Release 161.

Enhancements

  • Enhanced PDF Comments & Replies with Mention Capabilities: This enhancement builds on our previously delivered PDF replies and comments functionality, allowing users to mention others directly within PDF documents. This improvement further enhances our collaborative capabilities, making it easier for users to communicate more effectively within their PDF files when collaborating on content.

  • Azure Blob Storage Upgrades for Cloud Provider: Our support for Azure Blob Storage as a Cloud Provider has been enhanced to allow for folder creation and upload, including support for subfolders. This allows blob storage to be a functional equivalent to SharePoint in most respects, providing cost and performance advantages over SharePoint. These are important for bulk file sharing use cases where point solutions for managed file transfer and SFTP can now be deprecated in favor of the use of eShare. Note that Azure Blob Storage is available from Microsoft with an SFTP server as a provided service.

  • Integrating Forgerock as an OIDC Provider: Forgerock (now part of Ping Identity) is newly supported as an Identity Provider (IdP) for authenticating recipient users to Trusted Shares through OpenID Connect (OIDC). By enabling Forgerock as one of the OIDC providers in eShare, recipients of Trusted Shares will benefit from a seamless and secure authentication process.

  • Enhancing Transparency with Privacy Policy Link on eShare Login Page: We have updated the eShare login pages to include a link to the "Privacy Policy" alongside the existing "Terms of Service" link. This enhancement ensures transparency and compliance with privacy regulations, thereby boosting user trust and confidence in the platform.
