eShare is discontinuing support for all Personal (Free) Accounts, also called Desktop Clients. As we shift our focus entirely to our Enterprise and Business solutions, the legacy service used by personal accounts—including the desktop clients for Windows and macOS—has been deprecated and will no longer receive updates, security patches, or technical support. A new utility tool is now available that lets you decrypt local files without the deprecated desktop clients. The following steps will be reviewed:
Accessing the Utility
From the account drop-down menu, select 'Settings'.

Select the down arrow on the 'Settings' page to reveal a new entry named 'Utilities', then select it.

Note:
If you don't see a dropdown on the 'Settings' page, open a new tab and go directly to https://www.ncryptedcloud.com/account/utilities.
On the 'Utilities' page, select your operating system to download the utility, then follow the matching instructions below.
For Windows
Download ncc_decrypt.zip and unzip it.
Usually this is in your Downloads folder.
Unzipping it will create a new folder ncc_decrypt inside your Downloads folder.
Make sure the files you want to decrypt are on your local machine, put them all in a single folder, and rename that folder to encrypted_folder.
Open a command window and move to the newly created directory:
Select the Start menu (the Windows icon) on the taskbar, or press the Windows key.
Type cmd.
Select 'Command Prompt' from the list. If you're using the latest version of Windows 11, Command Prompt will open within Terminal.
Type:
cd ~\Downloads\ncc_decrypt
Run the decrypt command:
ncc_decrypt.exe encrypted_folderencrypted_folder is the full path of the folder that contains your encrypted files. To find or copy the path, go to the folder, right-click it, and select 'Copy as Path', then paste it after ncc_decrypt.exe.
Note:
Once you run this command, your files will start decrypting and the encrypted versions will be deleted.
Usage of the utility:
Displays help about the utility:
ncc_decrypt.exe --helpKeeps the encrypted .zip file instead of deleting it (encrypted_folder is again the path of the folder that contains your encrypted files):
ncc_decrypt.exe --keep encrypted_folder
The utility scans the folder for encrypted files (.zip) and decrypts them, reporting success or failure for each file.
For Mac
Download ncc_decrypt.zip and unzip it.
Usually this is your Downloads folder.
Unzipping it will create a new folder ncc_decrypt inside your Downloads folder.
Open a command window and move to the newly created directory:
Select 'Launcher', then select the 'Utilities' icon.
Select 'Terminal'.
Type:
cd ~/Downloads/ncc_decrypt
Run the decrypt command:
./ncc_decrypt encrypted_folderencrypted_folder is the name of the folder that contains your encrypted files. Use the full path of the folder; you can find it with the help of Finder.
Troubleshooting:
If you get the message Permission denied, type the following:
chmod 755 ncc_decryptIf you get a pop-up saying the program is in quarantine, type:
xattr -c com.apple.quarantine ncc_decrypt
Usage of the utility:
Displays help about the utility:
./ncc_decrypt --helpKeeps the encrypted .zip file instead of deleting it:
./ncc_decrypt --keep encrypted_folder
The utility scans the folder for encrypted files (.zip) and decrypts them, reporting success or failure for each file.
