Getting Started with the M365 eShare Application

The M365 eShare application simplifies how organizational users create, manage, and monitor Trusted Shares from a single, centralized location.
This guide will walk you through everything you need—from getting started to exploring advanced features.

To begin:
Click the eShare app pinned to your navigation bar.

If you do not find eShare app on the navigation bar, follow these steps

Dashboard View

Dashboard Overview

The Dashboard is the central hub of the M365 eShare application. From here, you can create, view, and manage all your Trusted Shares efficiently.

Key Components of the Dashboard

Navigation Panel (Left Side)
The navigation panel categorizes Trusted Shares based on the source of the data .
Categories such as:
SharePoint : Trusted Shares created from SharePoint sites.
Teams : Trusted Shares created from Teams channels.
OneDrive : Trusted Shares originating from personal or organizational OneDrive folders.
Outlook Shares : Trusted Shares generated via email.
All External Shares : Trusted Shares that originate from outside your organization, such as shares created by other companies that utilize eShare.

Example: If your organization has SharePoint sites for departments like Marketing , Finance , or HR , selecting a specific site will display Trusted Shares created for that site.

Initiate the process of creating a new share by clicking the 'Create Share' button at the top.

Select the right file

By default, a OneDrive window is displayed showing all your files.
You can also select files from SharePoint sites by clicking on a specific site.
If you don’t see your site listed, use the search option to find it.

After selecting the right file/folder, click select

Enter recipient details

Configuring the Trusted Share

After selecting the file or folder, a new dialog window will appear where you can configure the following options:

1. Name the Trusted Share

Use the default file or folder name, or enter a custom name to make the share easier to identify.

2. Add Recipients

Enter the email address(es) of the recipient(s).
Use auto-complete to quickly find users within your organization.

3. Leave a Message (Optional)

Add a short message that will appear in the Trusted Share email notification sent to recipients.

4. Select a Sharing Policy

Choose the appropriate policy that determines how recipients can interact with the shared content. If you’re unsure which policy to use, leave the default policy selected.
The availability of specific Sharing Policies is managed by your organization’s administrators.

Click Share

Once you are satisfied with your selections, click Share . The Trusted Share will be created, and an email notification will be sent to the recipient(s).

Trusted Share Created

The Trusted Share will be created, and an email notification will be sent to the recipient(s).

Open Share – Opens the Trusted Share within the eShare app.

Get Shareable Link – Generates a link for the Trusted Share. You can share this link with recipients to allow direct access to the share.
